Detroit at Buffalo 1:00pm EST
Selection: BUFFALO -2
Profile: This game is a great chance to take advantage of Buffalo’s quietly improved play while fading a team coming off of a tough loss. The Bills have steadily been playing better and are coming off of three straight losses by a field goal, with two of those wins coming against quality teams in Kansas City and Baltimore. In fact, they took both the Chiefs and Ravens to overtime as well. Buffalo’s offense has actually performed much better yardage wise over their last three games than Detroit’s offense has performed. Detroit enters this game coming off of a tough home loss to the New York Jets, in a game that they were poised to win before committing mistakes in the 4th quarter. In addition, Detroit also lost their star young quarterback Matthew Stafford for the season with a shoulder injury. Back-up quarterback Shaun Hill is questionable with a forearm injury, but neither him or third string quarterback Drew Stanton have played as well as Stafford. Buffalo has a tough schedule after this game, so this game is likely their best chance at getting a win any time soon. The Bills offense has been much better since Ryan Fitzpatrick has taken over as quarterback as well. I expect an improved Buffalo team to bring a maximum effort here against a Detroit team that is likely still hurting from last week’s tough loss to the Jets.
