Miami(OH) vs. Northern Illinois 7:00pm EST
Selection: NORTHERN ILLINOIS -17.5
The public acts like they are onto something here by thinking that Miami(OH) will do what Buffalo did a few years ago in this game by getting an upset shocker. However, that will not be the case. Miami doesn’t have their starting quarterback in Zac Dysert and will once again start Austin Boucher. Boucher is a freshman and only starting his 3rd game this season and will be facing his biggest challenge. He has been aided in facing what was a winless Akron team and a Temple team that suffered a demoralizing loss just a week prior. In fact, Miami’s schedule has been fairly easy all season and they never really beat a good opponent that was bringing their best effort. Cincinnati and Missouri both absolutely crushed the Redhawks, and Ohio beat them by three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Northern Illinois soundly beat a Temple team bringing a great effort by two touchdown. The Huskies are playing like a team on a mission right now and have been playing better and better each week. The difference with this team unlike the Ball State team that was upset by Buffalo in this game is that the Huskies are peaking at the right time. They have a load of momentum and are an experienced and senior laden team on a mission. I look for them to absolutely roll in this game.
